Hello and welcome to my first blog covering our campaign to make something rather special happen at Christmas – to make Tunbridge Wells a Labour town.
We kicked off the campaign last night with a brilliant launch event at the Camden Centre, in Tunbridge Wells. There was a tremendous turnout from members, tired of the damage caused by a decade of cruel Tory and Lib Dem austerity, but excited and optimistic for Labour’s vision for future generations.
Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be campaigning throughout the Tunbridge Wells borough to bring an end to austerity and properly invest in our schools, NHS and vital public services; to kickstart our Green Industrial Revolution which will make us a net-zero carbon economy, end fuel poverty, eradicate extortionate energy bills, build and upgrade green homes, and make millions of sustainable jobs; and to stop a damaging Tory Brexit and give a people’s vote on a final Brexit deal and the option to remain.
Something special is in the air this election. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to remake Britain for the many. I’ll need your help. So join me. I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail.
